The publication went on to say, "Given the galloping rise in health care costs in the U.S. and elsewhere, Mexico’s affordable and top-notch health care is a huge benefit to living there. Pretty much across the board, health care in Mexico costs a quarter to a half of what you would pay in the U.S."
PV-Health.com agrees with what International Living had to say about the quality and affordability of the care we enjoy in Mexico and their statement that private insurance (like polices available through PV-Health.com) will "cost a fraction of what you’d pay in the U.S. for similar coverage!"
What they didn't say is that "affordable and top-notch health care," is not the same as FREE health care. If you are hospitalized in Mexico, you will pay your doctors and the hospital before you leave the hospital!
Discovering that the health insurance you have back home doesn't protect you adequately internationally is a very rude shock that's easily avoidable with international health insurance and a global emergency medical evacuation plan.
We are believers in having adequate health insurance wherever our wanderlust takes us, but we are PASSIONATE about the need for everyone to carry emergency medical evacuation protection!
Why the passion for medevac? Because of the astronomical cost of medevac if you are not covered! Without coverage, you are looking at paying $30,000 to $50,000 USD or more – often much more - before the plane leaves the ground! Medevac coverage runs about a buck a day and with it, you and your partner fly for free!
